OUR WORK PLAN
The Alliance for Octopus's Work Plan in Yucatán is focused on strengthening the sustainability of the fishery through scientific research, responsible resource management, and support for fishing communities.
Our priorities include:Applied scientific research We generate and promote studies that provide solid scientific evidence for decision-making in fisheries management, covering topics such as population dynamics, fishing effort, habitat conservation, and other key areas. (These academic resources, articles, and other materials can be requested for consultation and dissemination.)
Social and Community Responsibility We promote fair and sustainable practices that contribute to the well-being of fishing communities and strengthen the value chain.
Training and Outreach We promote training and dissemination of scientific knowledge, bringing fishermen, students, and society in general closer to the sustainable management of marine resources.
With these actions, we reaffirm our commitment to a sustainable octopus fishery, supported by science and collective work.
